アビジャン在住の日本人の皆さまにご協力いただき、入門クラスにてビジターセッションを実施しました。学生たちは4月第2週からわずか2か月半、学習時間にして約30時間しか日本語を勉強していません。「その学習時間で本当に会話ができるのか」と思われがちですが、やる気さえあれば十分に可能です。今回は、コース最終日にこれまでの学習成果を発表する場として、このセッションを行いました。
「失礼ですが、お仕事は何ですか」「ご趣味は何ですか」「コートジボワールでどこが好きですか」「日本料理では何が好きですか」「アニメは好きですか」「フランス語はできますか。どのくらい勉強していますか」など、学生たちは緊張しながらも事前に準備してきた質問を一生懸命に投げかけ、日本人の皆さまには一つ一つ丁寧にお答えいただきました。多くの学生から「難しかったけれど、とても楽しかった」という感想が聞かれ、指導する側としても大変うれしく、安心しました。今回ご参加くださった皆さまは、外国語学習という観点から見れば、学生たちにとってまさに大先輩です。学生たちがこの経験から何かを感じ取り、今後の学習への励みとしてくれていれば幸いです。
間違いを恐れず、実際に使ってみることが何より大切だと考えています。今後も、このような実践的な交流の機会をできる限り多く設けていきたいと思います。ご協力くださった皆さまへの心からの感謝と、このような素晴らしい学習環境への感謝を忘れず、今後も精進してまいります。

With the cooperation of Japanese people living in Abidjan, we held a visitor session in the introductory class. The students had only been studying Japanese for two and a half months, since the second week of April, totaling approximately 30 hours. While it may seem impossible to truly achieve conversational ability with that much study time, it is entirely possible with motivation. This session was held on the final day of the course as an opportunity for them to present their learning progress.
Despite their nervousness, the students diligently asked questions they had prepared in advance, such as, "Excuse me, but what is your job?", "What are your hobbies?", "What do you like about Côte d'Ivoire?", "What is your favorite Japanese food?", "Do you like anime?", and "Do you speak French? How long have you been studying it?" The Japanese people patiently answered each question. Many students commented, "It was difficult, but very enjoyable," which made me very happy and relieved as their instructors. From the perspective of foreign language learning, the participants in this session are truly senior students to the students. I hope the students have gained something from this experience and that it will serve as encouragement for their future studies.
I believe that the most important thing is to try things out for yourself without being afraid of making mistakes. I would like to continue to provide as many opportunities for practical exchanges like this as possible. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who cooperated with us, and will continue to work hard, never forgetting my gratitude for this wonderful learning environment.
